The Pine-Scented Chronicles

The Pine Scent

Growing up in the mountains, my olfactory senses were aroused by the overflowing scent of the pine trees surrounding me wherever I went. It is one that I will always take with me wherever I go. This is just a vestige of my roots, a reminder of where I really came from.

A pine is any conifer in the genus Pinus, of the family Pinaceae (source: Wikipedia). From pine trees emanates a musk that is seductively outdoorsy.  It leaves you with a sensation that makes you want to get out and discover the world at large.

Luckily for me, I grew up in a place lush with pine trees. Whenever I think of home, one of the first things that comes into mind is the pine trees and their scent, so inviting. The coniferous musk will always be a reminder of the comforts of home, especially in the most trying of times.

The Chronicles

More than anything, life is a collection of stories, a chronicle of pains, smiles, laughter, joy, sadness, frustrations, disappointments, frights, and a whole spectrum of emotions. Life is indeed one interesting journey that brings us to different places we never thought we would be in.

Beyond that, one always has that longing to share every pain, every joy, every loss, and every victory. It makes living all the more interesting. To ultimately make an actual chronicle of these events is a challenge. But in life, there is no challenge too big for someone with an untold story.

But this isn’t just about individual vainglory. These pine-scented chronicles are collections of people, memories, and experiences that ultimately make life a kaleidoscopic world. This isn’t just about me. This is about us, me, and those who constantly help me become a better version of myself.

A pine scent to represent where my humble beginnings and chronicles for my, rather, OUR stories.
